Busch Captures Kobalt Tools 500 Victory NASCAR Betting and Picks- Mile and a half tracks continue to be friendly to the number two Miller Lite Dodge. Kurt Busch persevered Sunday to capture the checkered flag at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for a second consecutive spring, and third time overall. My NASCAR Picks over the weekend I had kurt Busch running in the top 3.
His last three Sprint Cup Series wins have come on tracks one and a half miles long. Matt Kenseth sped to a second place finish, Juan Pablo Montoya finished third. It appeared as though Montoya might have caught Busch in the race’s final five laps before Carl Edwards clipped Brad Keselowski, flipping the number 21 car and drawing a caution that halted Montoya’s charge. Check out the latest NASCAR Betting Odds.
On the first restart a seven-car collision forced a second restart, and Montoya dropped to third. After consecutive first-place finishes the last two races Jimmie Johnson placed 12th. Kevin Harvick came from way back to finish tenth, and remain atop the overall points standings after four races. Join Glen McNeil for the 2010 March Madness. NASCAR Betting Odds - Las Vegas Betting Picks & Predictions - Jimmie Johnson is as good a NASCAR betting pick as you can think of, as the four-time champion tends to do outrageous things on almost a weekly basis, with skill and luck. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the perfect place for Johnson to roll the dice this Sunday in the Shelby American, but he’ll have to fend off the trio of drivers from a rejuvenated Richard Childress Racing.
NASCAR Las Vegas Odds – Sunday, February 28. 2:00 PM ET
Vegas Odds Johnson (+350) just beat the yellow flag into the pits last week at California, and if he hadn’t, the No.48 driver would have gone down a lap. But you have to be good to be luck, and lucky to be good, and Johnson came out with the race lead, holding off Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton. Johnson is no stranger to Victory Lane in Las Vegas, as he won three straight races from 2005 to 2007, and he would have probably picked up win No.4 here if he hadn’t hit the wall in the closing laps. He’ll also have to contend with Hendrick teammate NASCAR Betting Odds Mark Martin (+700), who won the first race here in 1998, and has nine top-10s in 12 races in Vegas. He’ll be out to avenge last year’s engine failure.
Glen McNeil NASCAR Picks The Hendrick boys will have to watch out for Harvick (+1200), Burton (+1500) and Clint Bowyer (+1500), and RCR is hungry to prove that last year’s awful season was a fluke. All three drivers finished in the top eight at California, and they’re returning to a track where all three finished in the top 12 in 2009. Burton’s 9.8 finishing averagehere is the best among current drivers, and he won back-to-back here in 1999 and 2000. Burton is the most consistent of the three, so he’s the most likely to find to Victory Lane this week.
NASCAR Predictions Don’t forget about Joe Gibbs Racing, home of defending champion Kyle Busch (+700) and Joey Logano (+2500). Busch won his hometown race from the pole last year, but he had to go through the field as an engine change sent him to the back of the pack at the beginning of the race. Logano finished 13th in his first Las Vegas race last year, and that was as a rookie who had no idea what he was doing. You can see the confidence in Logano after a year’s experience, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s a favorite of bookmakers (bookmaker reviews).
Your best bet here is the consistent Burton, even though he hasn’t won since October 2008, a span of 43 races. Burton has looked great over the first two races of the year, and he has a great track record here, which is why I would place an internet bet with him. Don;t forget to check the site daily as our March Madness Picks will be here soon.
If you’re looking at sportsbook odds (sports interaction reviews) for the Daytona 500, it shouldn’t be surprising to see a number of drivers from Hendrick Motorsports at the top of the list. A Hendrick driver hasn’t won theGreat American Race since 2006, but this seems to be a good year for that streak to end.
Daytona 500 Odds – Sunday, February 14, 2:00 PM ET
Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads the Hendrick stable at +800, while Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are listed at Nascar Odds +900, and Mark Martin is rated at +1000 Nascar Sports Odds.. Add Tony Stewart at +750 and Ryan Newman at +2500, as both are driving Hendrick equipment at Stewart-Haas Racing. Only Stewart and Martin have failed to win this race, and all six drivers are in the top 15 in terms of finishing averages on restrictor-plate tracks. Martin and Stewart have narrowly missed winning this race (ironically, it was Newman who beat Stewart in 2008), so they’ll be hungry on Sunday.
Nascar Picks & Nascar Predictions - Kyle Buschis the overall favorite at +725, and the No.18 driver almost won the summer race at Daytona before Stewart wrecked him on the last lap to take the checkered flag. As far as pure talent goes, Busch may be the best driver in NASCAR, and after missing the Chase last year, he’ll be eager to get back on the track with a new crew chief, Dave Rogers, who was a crew chief on the No.20 Nationwide carthat won 14 races over two seasons, many with Busch in the car.
Outside of these drivers, the best bets to come away with the checkered flag on Sunday are Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick at +1400, along with defending champion Matt Kenseth at +2200Daytona 500 Odds. The older Busch is one of the best restrictor-plate drivers in NASCAR, and it was him who pushed Newman to his 2008 win at Daytona when the two were teammates. Harvick edged out Martin in the 2007 Daytona 500 in the closest finish in the history of the event, and he overcame a flu to win the Budweiser Shootout on Saturday night. Finally, Kenseth has looked good in practice, and he may be one of the most eager drivers to get back on the track after winning the first two races of last season, and then falling on his face for the rest of the season.
Picking a winner at a plate track is like playing a super casino: you have to have a lot of skill, but you also need some luck, especially in the final laps when it’s everyone for themselves. Jimmie Johnson has only one Daytona 500 win on his resume, and crew chief Chad Knauswasn’t even there as he was suspended. Johnson would love to start his drive for a fifth straight Sprint Cup title off on a high note, and he’ll outsmart the field at Daytona.
Danica Patrick Crashes in debut Nationwide race at Daytona YouTube - Danica Patrick in her first shot during the Nationwide race at Daytona. No driver in NASCAR could have avoided that crash.
