UFC Results: Florian vs. Maynard Fight Breakdown UFC Picks, Odds & Predictions E-mail

UFC Results: Florian vs. Maynard Fight Breakdown UFC Picks, UFC Odds & UFC Predictions - The lightweight division sees serious action on Saturday night at UFC 118. While Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn will battle it out in their rematch for the 155-pound title, lightweights Gray Maynard and Kenny Florian will engage in three rounds for the right to challenge the champion for the title. At least, that's the probably trajectory here.

Active ImageIf Gray Maynard wins this fight against Florian, there can be little doubt that he will receive the next title shot. Maynard already owns a UFC Picks win over current champion Frank Edgar, and many fans of UFC betting have criticized the organization for Maynard not getting a title shot already. The wrestler's style as being not fan-friendly perhaps has played a part in his not being promoted, and the Maynard himself seems acutely cognizant of this. Ironically, however, his efforts to round-out his game has in some ways exacerbated his perceived status as being a "boring" fighter.

Choosing to focus on boxing technique, Maynard has now augmented his wrestling style with crisp standup. Indeed, while he's authored knockouts, the majority of his fights play out with him landing peppering shots, out pointing his opponents, but not delivering the consistent crushing power to be a devastating force in the standup department.

In short, Maynard just can't get a break with many fans.

For his part, Kenny Florian continues to be a fan UFC favorite. The likable personality continues to look good in the octagon, as well as explore his career as an analyst with his stint on MMA Live. After dropping a tough loss to then-champion BJ Penn, Florian has rebounded well, in particular looking devastating against Takanori Gomi.

This is a great UFC Picks fight style wise. Fans of online sports betting like Maynard, but Florian deserves a look here. Maynard's crushing style is tough for any opponent to deal with, but Florian has looked so improved as of late. Indeed, training wrestling with Georges St. Pierre at Tri star in Montreal has got to give Florian confidence in the wrestling department, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out for the BJJ black belt.

Still, Maynard's wrestling and boxing will make the difference in this fight, and I like him as the smart betting pick. UFC Predictions Look for Maynard to hang with Florian on the feet and work a crushing top game once the fight hits the mat. I think Maynard will stave off submission attempts, and look to unleash a smattering of ground and pound, but ultimately keep it fairly conservative en route to a decision UFC Predictions win. After the fight Maynard should finally get his title shot - and it's very different fights depending on whether it's Penn or Edgar that comes out on top in the rematch. Regardless, fans of betting online know the lightweight division is in great shape in the UFC, and these fights promise exciting action on Saturday night. UFC 118: Nate Diaz vs. Marcus Davis Watch Live Online UFC Picks, Predictions & Odds - UFC Betting Odds  – Diaz, Davis Clash In Intriguing Welterweight Bout. Take a break from those NCAA football betting odds for a minute and check out this interesting welterweight battle in the UFC at UFC 118 Picks, which will take place on Saturday night in Boston.  One fighter is making his welterweight debut, while the other is aiming to move back up the ladder at 170 pounds.

Active ImageWatch UFC 118 Live Online for Free Sign Up for an account.   UFC 118 Betting Odds – Saturday, August 28, 9:00 PM ET. Nate Diaz (12-5, three KOs), also known as “The Kid From Stockton”, is making the move from lightweight to welterweight, and his debut was actually supposed to come at UFC 111 against Rory Markham, who failed to make weight for the contest, so it was called a middleweight bout.  No matter to Diaz, who knocked Markham out 2:47 into the first round.  Diaz had lost three of his last four UFC Predictions fights at lightweight ahead of his move to welterweight, but say what you want about Diaz, he’s never boring.  He’s won Fight of the Night three times, and Submission of the Night twice.

Those betting on NFL will often see teams go through slumps, and Marcus Davis (17-6, six KOs) was on the verge of one before knocking out Jonathan Goulet at UFC 113.  Davis, also known as the “Irish Hand Grenade” or the “Celtic Warrior”, had lost to Dan Hardy in a controversial split decision, and then he was knocked out for the first time in his career by Ben Saunders.  Davis needed the win over Goulet badly to get his confidence back up, and that he did it in such a convincing fashion was especially a big thing.  Like Diaz, Davis’ fights are usually entertaining, and he’s won two Fight of the Night honors, one Submission of the Night honor, and a Knockout of the Night.

UFC betting odds have Diaz as a -200 UFC 118 Odds favorite, while Davis is rated at +160 UFC Odds, and we’re banking on Diaz to come away with the UFC Picks win.  He was always big at 155 pounds anyway, and it seems like welterweight is a natural move for Diaz, who is as comfortable on the mat as he is standing up.  Davis will be going for the quick win, and honestly, we don’t see this match lasting the full three rounds.  Both have enough power to knock their opponents out, and we’re thinking they’re going to be swinging for the fences.  Despite winning their last matches, neither fighter has been on a roll, and they need a big performance to put them on the radar at 170 pounds.  Champion Georges St. Pierre has rolled through the division, and both fights would love the chance to get in the octagon with GSP.  UFC 118 Picks Place an online sports bet on Nate Diaz this weekend.

UFC 118: BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar Picks, Predictions & Odds E-mail

UFC 118: BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar Picks, Predictions & UFC Odds - UFC Betting Odds – Penn Aims For Revenge Against Edgar. Those betting on college football are always trying to find an upset in their sportsbook, and a few months ago at UFC 112, UFC betting Odds players saw one of the upsets of the year when Frankie Edgar stunned B.J. Penn to win the lightweight title.  A rematch was announced almost immediately, and the pair will get in the octagon in Boston on Saturday night

Active ImageEdgar Penn Betting – Saturday, August 28, 9:00 PM ET. Edgar (12-1, two KOs) made his way through the UFC ranks, and a loss to Gray Maynard in a decision at UFC Picks Fight Night 13 is the only blemish on his record.  Most figured that he wouldn’t last long against Penn, and many felt that Edgar (nicknamed “The Answer”) would try to take Penn to the ground and use his wrestling skills.  But Edgar has worked hard to become more varied in his fighting style, learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and boxing, and he actually kept the fight with Penn standing up, often taking the fight to the former champion.  Those who look at NFL betting lines would compare this to the Giants’ upset of unbeaten New England in the Super Bowl in 2007.

Penn (15-6-1, six KOs), also known as “The Prodigy”, didn’t look right in the first fight against Edgar, and his camp said that he was battling a sinus infection with antibiotics in the run-up to the fight.  But it is very possible that Penn just didn’t take the first fight seriously, which is something that has plagued Penn throughout his career.  When it comes to natural talent, there aren’t many in the MMA world who have as much of it as Penn, but he doesn’t train as hard as he should at times, instead choosing to live off his natural talent.  When he’s 100% and on, no one in the middleweight division can touch him.

UFC betting odds have Penn has a -340 online betting favorite in this UFC Predictions contest, while Edgar still isn’t getting any respect at UFC Odds +265.  However, we think this will be a different story as Penn will reclaim the lightweight belt.  Revenge is a massive motivator, and Penn will want to put on a better performance this time.  You know that he’s been watching film of the first fight to see where he went wrong, and we’re willing to bet that a Penn at 100% would win a stand-up fight with Edgar anytime.  Edgar may actually do more to try and get this fight down to the ground, but if he does, Penn’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is better (Penn reportedly earned his black belt in the quickest time in history; Edgar is still a purple belt).  UFC 118 Picks & Predictions Bet on sports: BJ Penn -340 UFC 118 Odds.

Active ImageBodog Online Sports Bodog UFC Odds are listed with Randy Couture -575 MMA Odds favorite which he should be he is the legend. Randy Couture doesn’t come off as being too cocky or over confident in the interview, but he does point out what his strategy fwill be for beating Toney in a fair bit of detail if Toney relies strictly on his boxing skills.

Nobody ever banned boxers from entering the UFC. It has nothing to do with the UFC if boxers have chosen not to make an appearance before now but it's only the boxers that claim MMA fighters suck, but MMA fighters respect the boxers. Doesn't make sense to me.. The Couture UFC 118 odds are pretty good in this meeting as he is -575 Betting Odds. Probably not even worth your time at that price. UFC Predictions I'm going to make Parlay play on Randy Couture and BJ Penn and should do the same and cash in on my UFC 118 Predictions parlay.

UFC Betting Odds- Recapping A Classic UFC 117 Results & Picks E-mail

UFC Betting Odds- Recapping A Classic UFC 117 Results & UFC Picks - Take some time away from your NFL betting lines for a second to look back on one of the best MMA Picks cards in recent memory, last Saturday’s UFC 117  in Oakland.  There was no shortage of thrills on this card, so let’s check it out.

Active ImageRoy Nelson vs. Junior Dos Santos UFC 117 Results - These heavyweights would probably held a team’s NCAA football betting odds if they were younger (and football players), but it was Dos Santos who won a unanimous decision, and he is now in line for a shot at the winner of the Brock Lesnar-Cain Velasquez title fight at UFC 121. UFC 121 Betting Odds are up right now.

Matt Hughes vs. Ricardo Almeida UFC 117 Results - Hughes showed that he still had something left in the tank when he submitted Almeida with a modified Anaconda in this welterweight class, winning “Submission of the Night” honors.  Will the former champion try and make his way up the 170-pound ladder once again?

Clay Guida vs. Rafael dos Anjos -Guida broke dos Anjos’ jaw in the first round, and ultimately that is what made dos Anjos tap out in the third round of this lightweight tilt, and Guida will be looking for his next fight very soon.

Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves UFC 117 Results - Fitch won his fifth straight fight by decision, even though Alves failed to make the weight for this 170-pound contest.  Fitch had beaten Alves back in 2006, and the Brazilian never looked like he would get his revenge.

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen  - Sonnen was one of the biggest UFC betting underdogs ever, but he did exactly what he said he was going to do against the middleweight champion, which was beat him up.  Sonnen was easily winning the fight on points, and for 4.5 rounds, Sonnen’s wrestling and ground-and-pound completely confused Silva, who was dominated in a way we had never seen before (he would later say he had a rib injury, suffered during training, and doctors wanted him to back out of the fight).  But then, a running theme in Sonnen’s MMA Picks career popped up.  Silva had been looking for a triangle for a round or two when he realized how strong Sonnen’s wrestling was, and he finally got in the fifth and final round, causing Sonnen to tap out with 1:50 left in the fight.  It wasn’t even just Sonnen’s wrestling; he landed an MMA-record 289 strikes in the fight, and that’s where Silva was supposed to destroy him.  This won “Fight of the Night” honors, and Silva shared “Submission of the Night” honors with Hughes.  Sonnen came within two minutes of winning, but he tore down the mystique of Silva, who surely will take the game more seriously after this near-loss, and Sonnen almost pulled off one of the great betting upsets of all time.

Make some early UFC 118 Picks plays right now at Bodog Online Sportsbook UFC 118 Odds are up right now. Early UFC 118 Odds has listed BJ Penn -360 favorite over Frank Edgar +250 underdogs at UFC 118. Early UFC Picks Bet on BJ Penn right now as the MMA Line will move way up before fight night.
